Blog Response # 2

Our game currently only supports four players. Players should remain playing the game until it is completed. If a player leaves during game play, they will probably be barraged with a series of insults by the other players. There are two alternative player structures that can differ from the current player structure. Players can either group into teams or more players can be added to the game. The first example will most likely make the game go faster, while the second example would make the game go much slower.

Compared to the player structures of other games, I’d say that ours is pretty much along the same vein. The thing I like about our game up to this point is that the player structure is very flexible. Of course that’s most likely due to the fact that our game is at such a immature stage. If our game does go in a direction that will ultimately support teams, I’d say that having even teams would be the best way to go. Otherwise one teams would have an advantage over the other. As I stated before, teams will undoubtedly make the game go faster. With teams there will be a collective group of knowledge answering a question rather than just one person. Our current player structure makes the game travel fairly smooth. The length of gameplay is anywhere from 30-45 minutes. The benefit of our game only supporting four players is the length of game play, Most board game play is around 30-45 minutes. Our player structure is somewhat of a double edged sword. There is definitely a lack of variety and spice. To go beyond other games, which in my opinion should be every game designers intention, new structures should be explored. Our player structure, while it is safe and stable, should be unique. That in my opinion is it’s only fault.
